What happened to Modere? Shaklee acquired it.
Modere closed in April 2025. Shaklee acquired the trademarks, patents, and formulas, and the products went back on sale on 28 May 2025. If you are trying to find Liquid BioCell or Trim again, they are available in Canada and I can get them to you.
What Shaklee actually acquired
According to Shaklee’s press release of 23 May 2025, the acquisition covered substantially all of Modere’s business. Specifically:
- All trademarks, patents, and formulas for Modere products
- An exclusive licence to sell Liquid BioCell® Collagen
- The manufacturing and testing equipment from Modere’s North American facilities
- Related inventory
The products named in the release were Liquid BioCell® Collagen, Trim, Burn, Sculpt, and Curb. Shaklee describes them as “the same science-backed collagen products customers love, with the same formulas.” That is Shaklee’s wording, and I am quoting it rather than making the claim myself. If you want to check a specific ingredient list against what you were taking, ask me and I will pull the current label.
A note, before the product links
Modere closing the way it did was hard on a lot of people. Customers lost products they had built a routine around, and consultants lost businesses overnight with no warning and no wind-down. I am not going to pretend that was good news for anyone.
If your Modere consultant landed somewhere and is still looking after you, stay with them. If you were left without anyone and you just want your products back, that is what the rest of this page is for.

Modere and Shaklee: common questions
What company took over Modere?
Shaklee. In a press release dated 23 May 2025, Shaklee announced it had acquired substantially all of Modere’s business, including the trademarks, patents, and formulas for Modere products, plus manufacturing and testing equipment from Modere’s North American facilities.
Is Modere owned by Shaklee now?
Shaklee acquired Modere’s brands, formulas, and patents rather than continuing Modere as a separate company. The products are now sold by Shaklee. Modere itself stopped operating in April 2025.
Can I still order Liquid BioCell?
Yes. Liquid BioCell came back on sale through Shaklee on 28 May 2025. In Canada you can order Liquid BioCell Life+ and Liquid BioCell Pure through my Shaklee storefront, and I can help you work out which one matches what you were taking before.
Are the formulas the same as they were under Modere?

Why did Modere shut down?
Modere closed in April 2025 after 23 years in business without publishing a reason. I am not going to speculate about it. What I can tell you is what happened to the products, which is that Shaklee acquired them and brought them back the following month.
What happened to my Modere consultant?
Modere’s closure was abrupt and a lot of consultants lost their businesses with very little notice. If yours is still active somewhere else, order from them. If you have no one and simply want your products back, I am glad to help.
Do you ship across Canada?
Yes. Orders ship Canada-wide from Shaklee Canada’s Ontario distribution centre. I am in Surrey, BC, so local pickup is an option for Lower Mainland customers on the staples I keep in stock.
