On Magnesium forms and absorption
Single small randomised trial
Mg citrate found more bioavailable than other Mg preparations in a randomised, double-blind study46 healthy adults took 300 mg of magnesium a day for 60 days as oxide, citrate or amino acid chelate. Citrate raised blood magnesium the most and oxide was no different from placebo. It measured absorption markers, not health outcomes.
